Advanced Mooring Supply AS? (AMS) experience with synthetic fibre rope moorings dates back to 1996. AMS has a number of synthetic fibre mooring lines for rental and has had mooring lines installed on a number of drilling units, totalling in excess of 1400 days of operation. Among others, oil companies such as Norsk Hydro, Shell and Statoil have enjoyed the benefits of the AMS synthetic fiber mooring lines. The use of fibre rope mooring lines on offshore vessels is increasing continuously, mainly driven by requirements from deepwater developments as well as avoiding damage to pipelines and subsea equipment by crossing mooring lines.
