Description:

Plans, schedules and conducts broad and/or technically complex engineering assignments requiring judgment, independent evaluation, selection and significant adaptation and deviation from standard techniques and procedures. May plan and coordinate the work of less experienced engineers.  serves as a technical expert in meetings with customers and vendors.  Travels to project meetings and job sites as necessary. Develops new techniques and solutions and suggests and justifies product and work process improvements. Independently performs most assignments.  Receives technical guidance only on very unusual or complex problems.

Duties:   

Responsible for specialized subsea components detailed engineering, focusing in particular elements and its interfaces based on his/her competencies. Typically the areas of specialization are the following:

  • Production equipment- trees, manifolds, jumpers, flowline structures, etc
  • Hydraulic & chemical distribution
  • Electro hydraulic umbilical
  • Instrumentation and control

    • Prepares estimates and proposals for engineering scope.
    • Compile component requirements and prepares design basis documentation.
    • Develops operating philosophies, functional specifications and other conceptual documents.
    • Develops the subsea system architecture using formal decision support tools.
    • Coordinates the detailed design of all subsea system components
    • Reviews drawings and other engineering documentation
    • Prepares technical specifications for purchased equipment.
    • Develops installation and commissioning procedures
    • Coordinates and interfaces with equipment suppliers.

  • Prepares technical evaluations of supplier's proposals.

Qualifications:   

Should have a bachelor's degree. With comprehensive knowledge in relevant subsea components, with a well-developed knowledge of general engineering principles and practices.  Working knowledge of the organization's technology and knowledge and understanding of how the relevant components integrates into a subsea system.
