 Description:
- Applies extensive and comprehensive knowledge of riser engineering principles and practices to the organization's products and services.
- Plans, schedules and conducts broad and/or technically complex engineering assignments requiring judgment, independent evaluation, selection and significant adaptation and deviation from standard techniques and procedures.
- Develops, plans, evaluates and recommends solutions for difficult problems.
- Assignments are broadly defined.
- Work is performed and decisions are made independently.
- Serves as a technical expert in meetings with customers and vendors.
- Travels to project meetings and job sites as necessary.
- Routinely suggests, justifies and implements improvements and creative solutions for problems.
Duties:
Responsible for riser analysis and design through all the phases from vision, conceptual, feed and detailed design, covering holistically the riser system and its interfaces including all its key components.
- Prepares estimates and proposals for riser studies.
- Compile system requirements and prepares design basis documentation.
- Compiles metocean and motion data.
- Develops functional specifications and other conceptual documents.
- Develops computer models for simulation and study case matrix
- Static analysis
- Wall thickness analysis
- Global dynamic analysis
- Fatigue analysis
- Local FEA modeling
- Hydrate. corrosion, wax, scale management and remediation.
Qualifications:
Should have a bachelor's degree or masters of science in engineering. Should be a recognized expert with comprehensive knowledge in subsea systems, with a well-developed knowledge of general engineering principles and practices. Working knowledge of the organization's technology and knowledge and understanding of how the riser systems integrates into a complete project.
Should excel in the use of existing software applications and capable of developing methodologies, algorithms and applications for special problems.
- 10+ years of related engineering experience.
